In the midst of winter, I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer.

Old Tourist
This is how Vigan looks at night. We toured our friend's brothers at the famous cobblestoned street of Vigan. Its always nice to tour people around kasi with each new person, new yung experience. You keep on rediscovering the place kasi bago yung reactions lagi. I haven't walked these streets in a long time. I remember passing through it everyday before and enjoying the view over and over again. There's something about this big old houses that fills me with awe and silences my soul.
Walking these streets makes me wonder at life then. How people lived... I don't know if its that constant wondering that silences me. But it doesn't just silence me, it calms me. Whatever might that reason be, it soothes my nerves. There's something about it that makes me walk in leisure, never hurried. You just have to drink in everything it has to offer.
I think its the history behind... I would sometimes walk there and hear someone playing the piano and visualize people in American era clothes dancing and drinking in merriment. I could just see ladies in gowns reminiscent of these era dancing and twirling in the (very) large living rooms of these old houses.
How privileged would I have been if I own such a house! As a kid, I could have had biked inside the house, roller blade on it, run around to my heart's content in the large rooms and slippery wooden. As a teen, it would have been a breeze inviting large number of friends for a party for there was no lack for space. And now that I'm older... i would have had vast space/room to scrap in with all my stuff organized and the best thing is... I don't have to clean up every time I finished working. Yeah, it would have been great living in such a house.
