In the midst of winter, I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer.

Journal in Layout:
Smile though your knees are shaking
Smile though you're hyperventilating
Even when you're acrophobic and
claustrophobic you'll get by...
If you just SMILE
This was a shot taken in Camp Bojeador in Burgos, Ilocos Norte. everyone went all the way up to the lighthouse except me. It was scary at the very top because it was so windy and cramped. We were allowed to go two at a time only. As for me, making my way through the long dark spiral stairway was enough to make my knees wobble and my breathing irregular. Yes, i confess, I'm acrophobic. I'm scared of heights. Just the thought that my feet aren't on solid ground or that there's a vast space between myself and the ground makes me paralyzed with fear.
Sample... We were walking in s landscaping site in a park where they had dug deep holes. We had to walk between these holes (about 20feet ata) on a 1 1/2 foot wide of ground lang. I started okay but when I reached the middle and looked down... ayun na... I was paralyzed with fear. I couldn't move literally. I was asking my friends to fetch me. I was ready to cry. (what a baby, right?) And even when my friend was there I couldn't move pa rin. It was just the thought of staying there forever that convinced me that I had to move na. I survived that ordeal and as I stepped on solid, vast, plain and level ground, my cry and fear subsided and I smiled sheepishly for my stupidity. Hahaha!
So that's what the layout is all about, smiling even though we are faced with tasks too daunting for us. After all, if we fail, we can just try and do it again... worst case scenario... Being left alone, paralyzed, and nowhere to go. So if I'm ever faced with such a dilemma again, I'd stay calm, breathe deeply and shout for help... hehehe! Or I could just smile, say cheese and wait till they've taken my shot and................................ cry for help! LOL
